Swedes are taking over
I got the call from Jim Muir to shoot some photos at the legendary “Gonzalez Pool”. I was excited and bummed at the same time…this was the last and final session. The Gonz Pool has been going on for over 30 years and the crew had no problem getting the session heated quickly. The line up included: Ray Flores, Jim Muir, Skip Engblom, Jesse Martinez, Scott Oster, Aaron Murray, Chris Cook, Christian Hosoi, Lance Mountain, Tosh Townend, Bennett Harada, Charlie Blair and Chris Mumma. The session was a great time and hearing the crew talk about the legendary sessions that went down there was a lesson in skate history. I am glad that I was able to get a few photos to share Gonz’s last session. R.I.P. Gonzalez pool, it will be forever in our memories.

I met up with some of the Osiris guys at Unit B. They have a solid group of skaters on their “Concrete Crew Team”. I followed them to the Combi and got a few photos. Look out for their video coming out soon.

Bomer, Chris Rest, Boz Rivera. This album blows my mind.
Down and out… we’ve all been there, most of the time it’s trivial, but there are quite a few of us that are on the receiving end of shit. Misfortune, disease and death does not discriminate and it puts a smile on my face knowing that most skateboarders step up to the occasion when one of our own is in need. Chuck Hults is not a stranger to misfortune and when he makes a product that will benefit someone in need, I am on board. Mr. Hults is a master skateboard maker and crafted a limited edition Deckcrafters Pink Ribbon Pool Cue to donate the profits to the Grind For Life organization. If you are unfamiliar with Grind For Life, they provide financial assistance to cancer patients that need to travel in order to receive treatment. When I purchased the benefit deck, I had every intention to just hang it on my wall, but once I had it in hand, I knew it needed to be brought to life. I put it together and had a few friends take it for a spin…
