MRZ in the LBC.
If you have any interest in the skateboard world, chances are you’ve seen a MRZ photo. Ray Zimmerman has been at it since the 80’s, been everywhere and shot everyone from young grom to seasoned pro. The dude puts countless hours into his photography and has definitely been an inspiration to me. Next month will be Ray’s very first solo show at Dark Matter Gallery in Long Beach. Opening reception on January 8, 2011, 6-10pm.

The Butler’s Birthday.
Ben Butler had a little gathering Saturday night to celebrate his birthday. He seemed to be doing more work than relaxing and skating but he did get a few runs in. Some new additions to his backyard fun zone were some hitech LED lighting and also a trim back of the 4-finger Anthony coping that opening the pool up to a whole new level of ripping. DJ Don Ceaser, Skatanic Rednecks and beers-o-plenty all made for a great night. Here are a few photos.

Upland Contest 12/5/10.
The annual Upland Pipe contest was held over the weekend. The rain held off most of the weekend, but started to come down hard right at the end of the last heat. Huge thanks to Serna and the Badlands crew for putting on such a fun event. Here are a few shots from Sunday.

Indy Legends and young guns had a locked down session at the infamous Bellmar Skate Ranch to celebrate 20 years of the death bowl. This is the best footage I have seen I a long time.
