Took a trip out to Colorado a little over a month ago for the King of the Snake – Dave Tuck Invitational and to hit up some of the amazing spots that I keep hearing so much about. I’ve been told a thousand times, but it wasn’t until we got there did I truly understand the magnitude of skate terrain in Arvada and the skate scene that goes along with it.
Before we could leave California, we had a little hicup at the airport.

We made our flight in time and we were off to Denver.
Spent the next day witnessing some heavy shred go down at Arvada Skatepark for the King of the Snake – Dave Tuck Invitational. In addition to an amazing contest, there was huge raffles, custom art, food trucks, music cranking all day, and all around good times… all to support Dave Tuck.

After Josh Borden was crowned King of the Snake, we headed over to Rock-A-Billies for the after party. Space In Time started it off and killed it with a blend of psychedelic face melting that got the crowd pumped.

Frontside Five closed the place down the Denver Skate Punk way.

The next morning was off to a slow start. Stopped by Tuck’s to hang out for a bit.

Checked out a few parks. Wheat Ridge and Baby Arvada.

After a few stops, we ended up at Greg’s epic side yard.

The gap session ensued, Aaron took in frontside and Jimi went backside.

Next stop was Jerry’s annual skate bash. This ramp is definitely one of the funnest I have ever skated…full Animal Chin style fun.

Took it easy the rest of the night in order to get a little skating in the next day before we had to leave.
I’ve been hearing so much about Terrill’s bowl, we weren’t about to leave before taking some turns in it.

Huge thanks to everyone for an awesome weekend, Shane for putting us up and the Arvada Army for making us feel at home. Until next time.

Last Saturday marked the 5th annual Camtest, held back in Colorado in the Arvada Skatepark Snake Run, properly titled King of the Snake. Like previous years, this event is much more than a contest, but a gathering of a nationwide shred family all to support our skate brother Dave Tuck and his battle with cancer. If you were lucky enough to make it out, then you saw some of the most insane skating. You also got to witness a community of some of the most giving and selfless people doing all they can to make this event a sucess, not only for Dave Tuck, but for skateboarding as well.
The day started off with the groms, Ams and Old Guys before the main event. I was having camera issues, so missed a lot of the early ripping, but here are a few photos I managed to get.

When the dust settled, it was Josh Borden that ended up taking the top spot, followed by Andy Mac in 2nd and Dalton Dern in 3rd in the Pro Division.
Old Guys had Glen Charnowski in 1st, followed by Chris Patton in 2nd and Lenny Byrd in 3rd.
Team Pain Snake Charmer Award went to San Pedro’s finest, Robbie Russo, Riley Stevens and Oscar Navarro.
Cockfight Man Slam Award went to Danny Tumia.
A huge thank you to Cam Dowse, Mike Daniel and the countless people behind the scenes that put in the time and effort to make this event better than any mainstream skateboarding event could ever be. Close to $11,000 was raised and 100% of it went directly to Dave Tuck. This is a prefect example of when you put something in the hands of skateboarders amazing things will happen. Thank you skateboarding.

Get Buck for Tuck!
The 4th Annual Camtest was held at the infamous Pink Motel this past Saturday. Hundreds of people showed up from all over the country to give back to our skateboard brother, Dave Tuck, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in September. Over $8,000 was raised and all of it went to Dave to help pay for his treatment to beat cancer.
