An eBay auction of some amazing one-off and collectible skate items is now live through evening Thursday, June 2. All proceeds will help Duane Peters and his mass of medical bills. He saved his own leg! But now it’s time to pay the piper. So his friends and supporters have donated these fine goods and rare collectibles to help out.
Pretty much watched this movie everyday and then would grab my skateboard and push as fast I could down the street while “Wild in the Streets” played in my head. So bummed I can’t make this.

Thrashin’
(25th Anniversary screening, cast/crew in person!)
Co-presented by Levi’s Film Workshop, in conjunction with MOCA’s “Art In The Streets” exhibit
Like so many other facets of underground teen street culture (video arcades, drag racing, hip-hop), skateboarding was destined to eventually become grist for the mainstream Hollywood mill — but no other film came close to showing off just how much amazing fun it could actually be than Thrashin’. In his first starring role, Josh Brolin plays an amateur shredder who, while dreaming of a championship title, joins a Venice crew and falls for the sister of a rival gang leader. This West Side Story on wheels is an incredible laidback time capsule of ‘80s SoCal skate culture, capturing parties, rock shows, competitive showdowns and the general all-around mayhem that has set the template for generations’ worth of future boarders. As well, the film features a non-stop parade of killer vintage footage of Tony Hawk, Tony Alva, Christian Hosoi and Steve Caballero in action! Schedules permitting, Thrashin’ writer/producer Alan Sacks, co-writer Paul Brown, production designer Catherine Hardwicke, editor Lorenzo Destefano — plus co-stars Robert Rusler (“Tommy Hook”), David Wagner (“Little Stevie”) and Chuck McCann (“Sam Flood”) — will all be here in person for a Q&A after the film. Stay tuned for more special guests TBA! Also, DJ Tuna will be here to spin tunes before and after the film!
